Beijing, September 3, 2026 — The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has announced a USD 5‑million equity commitment to Glory Ventures Investments Fund III, managed by Shanghai‑based deep‑tech venture‑capital firm Glory Ventures, to back early‑stage startups building green‑ and technology‑enabled‑infrastructure solutions across emerging Asia.

Marking another milestone under AIIB’s Venture Capital Investment Program for Green and Technology‑Enabled Infrastructure, the commitment was officially disclosed via a bank‑wide press release dated September 3. The programme is designed to mobilise public‑private capital and close financing gaps for early‑stage technology firms in infrastructure‑related verticals.

Glory Ventures Fund III targets early‑stage companies working on deep‑technology and artificial‑intelligence use‑cases, with three core investment pillars: digital infrastructure, sustainable‑energy and climate technologies, as well as smart‑mobility systems, primarily across emerging‑market economies in Asia.

Beyond capital, AIIB will deliver non‑financial support, including guidance to strengthen the fund’s environmental‑and‑social‑management system (ESMS), the roll‑out of a gender‑lens investment strategy, and knowledge‑sharing via the bank’s InfraTech Portal to disseminate industry best practices for infrastructure‑technology innovation.

“Venture capital plays an important role in scaling technologies that address infrastructure and climate challenges,” commented Kim‑See Lim, AIIB’s Chief Investment Officer for Public‑Sector Clients (Region 1) and Global Financial‑Institution‑and‑Funds Clients. “Through our partnership with Glory Ventures, we aim to unlock the potential of Asian start‑ups, crowd‑in additional private‑sector finance for sustainable infrastructure and support members’ digital‑economy and green‑transition agendas.”

Industry observers note that AIIB’s LP investment into a China‑based VC’s USD‑denominated fund carries strong signalling value. The multilateral‑development‑bank stamp of approval is expected to help attract global institutional limited partners, while embedding internationally‑aligned ESG criteria across the fund’s investment‑screening, due‑diligence and portfolio‑monitoring workflows.
